Summary

In the article the role of innovations in the system of ensuring economic security of the country is considered. The attention is paid that in modern conditions of globalization the level of economic security of the state substantially is defined by effective functioning of the real sector of national economy and directly depends on extent of development and introduction of innovations to all spheres of economic life that, in turn, defines the prospects of development (or on the contrary — degradations) societies and economies in general. It is emphasized that in mechanisms of state management  of  the innovative sphere and creation of favorable climate for development of science and high technologies it is conditionally possible to underline main components of activity of the state: creation of financial mechanisms of the state support of innovative activity, formation of innovative infrastructure and also indirect methods of regulation. Particularly, blockchain technology can help in the struggle against corruption.  It is noted that the policy of the government of Georgia in the field of innovative development brought notable  results, Georgia considerably improved the indicators having taken the 59th place in the world in the rating of "The global innovative index" (Global Competitiveness Index, GCI) 2018 having improved an indicator on 9 coefficients in comparison with last year.
